Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the Town Manager, 200 Rogers Road, Kittery, Maine 03904, for one 4x4 Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The deadline for bid proposals based on the Bid Specifications is 1:30 PM on Wednesday July 22, 2009. Bid packets are available on line at www.kittery.org under Town Documents or by contacting Town Hall at 207-475-1329.

Sealed bids will be received on WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2009 at the Office of the Town Manager, 200 Rogers Road, Kittery, Maine 03904, for one 4x4 Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) automobile with the following minimum specifications:
2009 or later year 4x4 Sport Utility Vehicle (Chevrolet Tahoe/Ford Expedition or equal)
Exterior Color: Red or White
Interior Color: Black/Gray
4x4 drive train
Automatic transmission (6 speed)
V8 cylinder engine (minimum 4.6L)
Power windows, Power locks, Power steering
Power 4 wheel disk brakes with anti-lock system
Rubber mats (front and rear)
Stainless steel exhaust
Class III/IV trailer towing package
Running boards
Alloy wheels
Splash guards
Remote operated starting system
Proposals, clearly marked "SUV VEHICLE BID" will be accepted until 1:30pm on
WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2009 at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The specifications are minimum specifications. All other items not specified shall comply with all applicable State and Federal Motor Vehicle laws in effect at the date of purchase. Bidders must document exceptions taken to minimum specifications
The proposals will be turned over to the Chief of the Kittery Fire Department and a determination will be made within thirty (30) working days of the bid that best meets the needs of the Kittery Fire Department.
The successful bidder shall defend any and all suits and assume liability for the suit of any patented articles and devices forming a part of the vehicle.
The Town of Kittery reserves the right to reject and or all bids, to waive technical deficiencies or informalities, and to accept any bid that it may deem to be in the best interest of the town.
