Simply put: If you live in Kittery and your vehicle is registered out of State, or the vehicle you are using belongs to someone else and you are the person who is using it here, it needs to have Maine Plates.
Be prepared to pay $911.00 for the first offense, and higher fines for subsequent offenses. Your name will be forwarded to the Bureau of Tax Evasion for investigation of income tax evasion. All vehicles, Personal and Business are required to be registered in Maine within 30 days.
