The Waterline
KITTERY, ME - As we head into the busiest weeks of the boating season, boaters are reminded to observe the speed limits as posted in the Port Authority regulations. Harbormaster and Maine Marine Patrol have received several complaints about excessive speeds in the Back Channel. Be advised that you are responsible for your wake when traveling under the Memorial Bridge to the red nun beyond Badger Landing Marina. Enforcement in these and other locations is already being stepped up in collaboration with the Maine Marine Patrol.
Excise taxes are due for any boaters whose boat is in Maine for at least 75 days during the year. Out of state boaters and Kittery residents can pay their excise tax in person at the Town Hall offices at 200 Rogers Road.
The waiting list for a mooring in Kittery was finalized as of July 3rd and will be posted at Town Hall, Pepperell Cove, and the Harbormaster website. This year, all available moorings will be assigned permanently to boaters on the waiting list. As a reminder, all boaters with permanent moorings must put their mooring number on their mooring ball in three-inch black letters.
