Jonathan Carter, the new Kittery Town Manager, commenced his duties in Kittery on February 28, 2005. Jon has lived in Kittery Point for over 18 years with his family. He comes to Kittery following serving as the Wells, Maine Town Manager for 16 years and several other municipal administrative positions in his 27 year career in public service ranging from an Elected full-time Selectmen for the Town of Sanford, Maine and Administrative Assistant to the Mayor in Westbrook, Maine including Deputy Director of the Greater Portland Council of Governments, a regional planning
organization serving the Towns and Cities in Cumberland County, Maine.
Recent Honors: Jon was named Maine Manager of the Year for 2006 by the Maine Town and City Management Association.
Jon has two daughters and his wife, Mary, who is a part-time Title One Teacher at the Horace Mitchell Primary School in Kittery. Jon likes to cook and kayak.
