The Town of Kittery, Maine is a basic rate and service regulator pursuant to the laws of the State of Maine and the regulations of the Federal Communications Commission. Based on these rules and regulations, the Town may enforce its Cable Communication Ordinance and its Franchise Agreement, both of which contain technical and service provisions consistent with State and Federal law. The Town also reviews rates for the basic service tier and receives citizen's
rate and service complaints.
Currently, Comcast is the only cable television service provider in Kittery: (visit: http://www.comcast.com). Citizens should always initially address rate and service issues--billing questions, changes in service, private property restoration, new service requests--directly with Comcast. Cable subscribers are encouraged to contact the Town with any issues that are not satisfactorily handled or resolved.
The Cable TV Rate Regulation Board presently handles Cable TV regulation.
