Hunting and Fishing Licenses
Resident and non-resident hunting and fishing licenses are sold at the Municipal Office,
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to  6:00 p.m.  or you can purchase them

Anyone 10 years of age or older must obtain a license to hunt birds or wild animals. Children under 10 years of age are not allowed to hunt in Maine. Children between the ages of 10 and 15 must purchase a junior hunting license and hunt with an adult who has a Maine hunting license. Hunters 16 years of age and older must take a hunter’s safety course to possess an adult hunting license. Anyone purchasing an adult hunting license must show proof of a hunter’s safety course (for your first license) or your old hunting license. Maine residents purchasing a hunting or fishing license will need to show a current drivers license (if you drive) or proof of residency. The State defines resident as a person who is a citizen of the U.S. and has been domiciled in the State of Maine continuously for three months prior to applying for any hunting or fishing license or an alien who has been domiciled for one year. If your registered to vote, it must be in the State of Maine and if license to drive, you must hold a current Maine drivers license or have applied for one. If you own a vehicle it must be registered in Maine and you must have complied with all State income tax laws. If you’re a student at a Maine university, you must reside in Maine and fulfill all of the other requirements.
